Jesse is a qualified Physiotherapist with over 7 years experience in the healthcare sector. He recently began the process of setting up his own Physiotherapy practice PEAK Health and Rehabilitation and asked Vine Accounting to help out on the business side.
Nathan asked Jesse about his experiences in setting up a new business.
Why a new business?
I have enjoyed being a physio and learning from other industry professionals, however being my own boss and running a business my way gives me the freedom and power to choose the shape of my work and future. I also feel a great sense of satisfaction in the outcome -increasing the quality of life for my patients.
What is your elevator pitch?
(A short business overview you can give someone in the time it takes to ride the lift)
Peak Health and Rehabilitation offers evidence based Physiotherapy practice for
- Diagnosis/assessment/treatment plans
- Injury treatment and rehabilitation plans
- Exercise and conditioning plans,
- Muscular and sports physiotherapy
PEAK also has a specialisation in sport physiotherapy, preventative conditioning and maintenance, and prosthetics.
What are some of the things you’ve had to think about in setting up a new business?
It’s been a challenge to build a new client base in a new city. So lots of work to contact other business that might refer, to letterbox drop the neighbourhood, build a website and platform for people to find PEAK Health and Rehabilitation, and to get word of mouth happening.
And of course a great accountant has been so helpful in getting all the statutory stuff set up and humming. 😉
